Faery Message for Saturday 14th May 2011

The Soul Shrinker

OK, so not the prettiest card in the deck, but believe it or not, a long time ago, the Soul Shrinker was very beautiful - but every wicked, mean, nasty or unnecessarily critical thing that we humans say, or even think, cause him to become more ugly. Every time we are unconditionally loving and kind, he becomes less ugly. Obviously, we have a long way to go.

When the Soul Shrinker turns up in a reading, he is advising you to watch out for malicious gossip and back-stabbing. It may be that you are on the receiving end of it...or it may be a reminder to observe how you yourself talk to and about other people. It is all too easy - almost "normal" these days - to score off others by ridicule, sarcasm, tittle-tattle and criticism. We're all guilty of it at times, but the Soul Shrinker tells us, in no uncertain terms, that this kind of behaviour is nothing less than a curse and every single vicious word or deed darkens the aura and always, without exception, is reflected back to the sender...in other words, what you give out, you get back multiplied.

This isn't a judgement or even a threat. It's just a bit of a wake-up call, and it's totally in your hands. You can choose to be more compassionate - firstly to yourself - and to refuse to have any part in other people's gossip and blame games. Even if you find yourself on the receiving end of such nastiness, it's important not to sink to that level yourself and, instead, to visualise the golden light of divine protection surrounding you, then to bless the situation and the people involved, and move on.

Oh well, that'll be easy then, won't it? Errr, no, definitely not, but that's why it is so crucial for as many of us as possible to learn this lesson right now. Give it a try - start off by just scattering random blessings as you go about your daily life - to strangers, to loved-ones, not-so-loved-ones, people from your past, the governments of the world, Mother Earth - and soon it will just become a way of life.

The Soul Shrinker is a timely reminder that this is, in fact, our duty as human beings.
